Shopping directory – yarns

The clothes-press guide to UK online yarn stores. This is a personal selection with an emphasis on British yarns and nice-but-not-horribly-expensive yarns. It only covers a very small number of the many places you can buy yarn in the UK.

If you are looking for British wool yarns, there is a comprehensive A-Z list of suppliers on Woolsack – it includes many small manufacturers and stockists.

I’ll try to go through and update P&P costs and other information from time to time, but this stuff will go out of date fairly quickly so please check details on shop websites. Delivery costs are listed for the UK only.
